Javier "Javi" Sanchez AKA KILLABITE is a drag king and multidisciplinary artist combining performance, visual arts, and expressive movement.
Having studied art for 3 years at Brookhaven Community College in Dallas, TX, Sanchez moved to the northeast and earned a BFA in painting from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in 2019. In 2022, Sanchez completed their first artist residency with Arts Itoya in Takeo, Saga Prefecture, Japan. Taking a break from painting, Sanchez began exploring drag as a way to express gender and mixed-Asian identity through the lens of horror. They are a Class 8 graduate of Kingdom, a bi-annual drag king workshop taught by Jayden Jamison in Cambridge, MA, Spring 2024.
For now, Sanchez works as a freelance graphic designer based in Boston, MA. and is available for hire for illustration projects, graphic design work, and performances. But their dream is to become a full time, touring artist and drag performer.
