Javier "Javi" Sanchez AKA KILLABITE is a drag king and multidisciplinary artist combining performance, visual arts, and expressive movement. Sanchez is the 2025-2027 Artist in Residence with The Theater Offensive (TTO), a Boston-based performance organization supporting the practices and intersectional performance work of QTPOC.
Having studied art for 3 years at Brookhaven Community College in Dallas, TX, Sanchez moved to the northeast and earned a BFA in painting with honors from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in 2019. In 2022, Sanchez completed their first artist residency with Arts Itoya in Takeo, Saga Prefecture, Japan. Taking a break from painting, Sanchez began exploring drag as a way to express gender and mixed-Asian identity through the lens of horror. They are a Class 8 graduate of Kingdom, a bi-annual drag king workshop taught by Jayden Jamison in Cambridge, MA, Spring 2024.
For now, Sanchez works as a freelance graphic designer based in Boston, MA. and is available for hire for illustration projects, graphic design work, and performances. But their dream is to become a full time, touring artist and drag performer.
